I am passionate about seeing others bloom in God's love for them. I spent 10 plus years in church ministry, followed by an inward journey of discovering my own belovedness. Spiritual Direction was the important space that helped me come alive to my identity as God's Beloved. My personal experience led me to get trained as a Spiritual Director through Denver Seminary, as well as in Formational Prayer through Healing Care Ministry. As a Spiritual Director, I long to come alongside people on their journey of recognizing and coming alive to the love of God in every aspect of their lives.

I live in North Alabama with my husband and three young girls. As a family, we love reading together, laughing, exploring new places, and always learning. I have found parenting to be a fertile space to experience and teach God's love to her girls.

I believe Spiritual Direction is a safe place to experience and process God's movement in your life. It offers an opportunity to pause from the normal rhythms of life and draw attention to God and how He is relating to you. Spiritual direction is an invitation to come just as you are. There is no homework or expectations. The real director is the Holy Spirit. The Spiritual Director is simply there to partner alongside you to listen and ask questions as you walk out your relationship with God.

Spiritual Direction is typically a monthly hour-long meeting with a trained director. Direction sessions can include spiritual practices, silence, prayer, and Scripture reading. It can also be a place to share and process what God has been doing throughout the last month. Direction is a safe place to lament and celebrate. It is meant to be an intentional rhythm of grace to care for your soul.

As a spiritual director, I companion people through the process of change. Life change happens in small and seemingly insignificant ways, but there is always something greater at work. It is in these tiny spaces that we begin to see the seed of change germinate. I love to highlight the liminal spaces of change and invite directees to honor and share what God is doing.

I have one daughter and have raised her while I have been a single parent, so I am acutely aware of the struggles of single mothers—especially ones who are working to complete college degrees and work full-time. Becoming aware of my own need for spiritual direction came late in that time period, but I had several spiritual friendships that helped me through that process.

I am an avid reader and have a deep sense of awe for creative works and pursuits. Much of my research for my doctoral program was in women’s spiritual autobiographies from the medieval period through the twentieth century and I hold a Ph.D. in Humanities from the University of Louisville. I currently work full-time as a professor in a small town in central Kentucky.

I love working with people who consider themselves creative and artistic—and people who have yet to become aware of their giftedness in creativity. I believe God has imbued in each of us an element of creativity and it expresses differently in each of us; some of us are creative engineers, while others are poets. There is beauty in all.

In addition to the regular direction, I have been trained to conduct retreats in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, or Ignatian Exercises, in the 19th annotation.

A desire for God, space, silence and listening was formed in my soul as a young girl growing up in the wide-open prairies of North Dakota. Since that time, I have had the privilege of companioning individuals and groups on their spiritual journey for forty plus years as my husband and I have lived and ministered with the Navigators throughout the US and overseas. I am a psychiatric nurse and have a part-time counseling practice.

In 1999 I received my certificate in spiritual formation from Eastern Mennonite Seminary. Since then I have been offering spiritual direction to individuals and groups and leading silent retreats. In 2006 God led a friend and me to co-found JourneyMates, a contemplative, non-denominational ministry dedicated to help people grow in intimacy with the Triune God through intentionally making space in the rhythm of our everyday life to come apart for silence, solitude, Scriptural reflection, prayer and spiritual companioning.

God has given me a passion to connect with people on their spiritual journeys to awaken a greater awareness of God’s presence in their lives and help them more deeply experience the joy and freedom of His unconditional love. Believing that God is our Ultimate Director, as the Good Shepherd of our souls, and that He is always active and present in our lives, my desire is to listen well to Him and to the individual noticing how God is present and active in their life whether it is in their pain, joy, confession, questions, anger, or delight.

I live in Raleigh, North Carolina with my dear husband, and we are graced with four married children and 13 grandchildren.

Where are you, God? This is a question I’ve frequented throughout my own spiritual journey. Spiritual direction is a transformative space where we practice turning down the noise of circumstance and thought that can't help but distract us from experiencing the loving presence of God. Ignatian spiritual exercises like Lectio Divina provide a vehicle to help you pay attention to where God is at work in your ordinary reality and lean into a more profound friendship with Father, Son and Spirit. I grew up spiritually in the Vineyard in Reseda, California. During my 26 years there, I served as worship leader, missionary in Oaxaca, Mexico, and youth mentor. I was certified as a spiritual director by Sustainable Faith in May of 2024, and did the 19th Annotation of Ignation spiritual exercises. I am a single mom to four mostly grown children, a Spanish language interpreter, musician, and tour producer for a travel company. God has led me through a lifetime of spiritual adventures that have unveiled His gracious presence in my deepest joys and sorrows and it's a blessing to prayerfully come alongside others seeking Him in everyday life. I am a retired pediatric nurse practitioner who graduated from Talbot School of Theology in 2012 with a Masters Degree in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care, serving as a Spiritual Director at the Center for Spiritual Renewal at Biola for the past 9 years.

Family relationships and parenting are the joy of my life with 45 years of marriage, parenting three children to adulthood in the Lord and discovering the joy of being a grandma to 5 little ones. I have served on short term medical mission teams to Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Africa and India and enjoy hiking, skiing, whitewater rafting, photography, singing, journaling, reading and talking with friends.

The journey to hope is fraught with grief. As a spiritual director, life coach and storywork counselor I am committed to providing space and safety for those on the perilous path of hope and healing. I am drawn to people who are in grief, feeling abandoned by God and by those who were supposed to love them. My hope is to provide a space of safety and support that allows others to process their trauma and to experience the longings deep within their own soul.

My own experiences with spiritual direction and storywork were life altering. I was named as good—as a person with value and beauty. For the first time, I began to experience what it means to find harmony between the truth of who I am and the living that I have done. In a way that is profoundly sacred, I began to see evidence of beauty in a story that once only brought me grief.

I completed a certificate in Spiritual Direction and Formation at Moody Bible College. Additionally, I have received advanced training at The Allender Center at The Seattle School of Psychology and Theology in Narrative Focused Trauma Care Levels 1 and 2. It is an honor to serve clients in a one-on-one setting offering the care and containment that they have been missing.

It is my hope to help people who are grieving and searching for answers like I was—wondering if there is hope for goodness and feeling that they have been abandoned. In meeting with me, you will find a voice that is kind, a space that is safe, and a heart that is committed to journeying with you into the wonder of who you are meant to be.

After experiencing burnout from work and life overseas, my husband and I took an intentional Sabbatical year in 2013 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. During this time I began to meet with a spiritual director who helped me hear God's Voice of Love in my life. My journey has been one of learning to hear the Voice of Love where I have often only heard the voice of fear. My healing journey continues, and has given me a passion to help others hear the Voice of Love in their own lives. My commitment to spiritual formation emerged from a period of burnout (circa 2005) when I was simultaneously engaged in extensive international travel and cross-cultural ministry as the Missions Director for my denomination while also pursuing a PhD at Fuller. From that painful period came a deep desire to continue engaging with God’s mission in the world while also giving significant attention to my own personal relationship with God. I have led spiritual formation retreats all over the world with pastors and leaders from a variety of cultures. My passion is helping leaders cultivate their own transforming relationship with Jesus as they find new ways to engage with God’s work in the world. Before focusing on missions, I re-planted and pastored a local congregation for more than twenty years.

I have been particularly impacted by the spirituality of Ignatius of Loyola as well as Eastern Orthodoxy, and have received extensive graduate training in both areas. I give substantial attention to my own relationship with Jesus including the daily practice of the Jesus Prayer, the prayer of Examen and lectio Divina. I have met monthly with the same spiritual director since 2006, and frequent a Benedictine monastery for regular personal retreats.

I have helped a growing number of churches/groups in a process of communal discernment. I particularly enjoy helping people in transition to discern God’s emerging direction.

We have three grown children (one of whom is adopted) and a bevy of grandchildren. Long ago I was a Navy FMF Corpsman with the USMC.

I trained in spiritual direction at San Francisco Theological Seminary.

Karen Fields has served as a certified spiritual director and professional life coach for the past twelve years. She pastored with her husband over twenty years, as well as working as a public school teacher for 25 years. Karen received her spiritual director training first with CFDM's L.A. cohort (Christian Formation & Direction Ministries) in 2011, and later continued growing as a spiritual director by earning a Certificate in the Art of Spiritual Direction through the Graduate School of Theology of Redlands, California. Karen has celebrated 43 years of marriage, and is the mother of three adult children and nine adorable grandchildren.

Her private spiritual direction practice is largely online using Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, Google Hangout, etc., building relationships with individuals from a variety of cross-cultural backgrounds.

I love meeting with those who are navigating their faith, especially during times of disorientation. This disorientation can come from a loss of identity, career transition, the death of a loved one, or shattered dreams. I serve people who need a companion to come alongside them to support, understand, and process feelings as they express their true hearts to God. I encourage people to discover a new sense of wholeness in Christ, even if it feels like pulling a heavy stone up a steep hill.

When there is a crisis, there is often a call for a new way of living. God is the ultimate healer, and spiritual direction is an opportunity to invite Him in openly and honestly. It has been one of the most influential parts of my healing journey.

I delight in walking alongside others as they seek to discern God’s presence and voice, exploring questions, doubts, desires, dreams, and struggles– the stuff of real life, whether in upbeat times or when struggling and feeling spiritually weary. Our meetings include prayer and listening in the context of a three way conversation between the person I am with, me, and God, who is the true director.

I live life with a sense of wonder and a curiosity about God’s ways in the world, desiring to become ever more attentive to his voice. As I meditate on the beauty of God’s work, I search for his “fingerprints” in life and creation that give evidence of his presence when it may not be obvious, and it’s my hope that through meeting with directees and through my artwork others see and appreciate that as well.

I prefer to live on the quieter side of life, often with paintbrush or pen in hand, and I lead “Sketching as Prayer” retreats, when together we search for God’s fingerprints in the world around us and enter into prayer through the pages of our sketchbooks.

I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Animal Science. After marrying, I homeschooled our three children until they went to college, then worked as a professional dog trainer, which gave me many opportunities to connect with people through their relationship with their dogs. I can often be found sketching, hiking with my husband and our dogs, traveling to visit our children and grandchildren, or reading with a mug of tea. A few of my favorite authors are C. S. Lewis, Eugene Peterson, Ruth Haley Barton, and Richard Foster.

I completed a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Aquinas Institute of Theology in 2013 and a Master in Ministry and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2020. In addition to meeting with directees, I serve Catholic healthcare as a Mission & Formation leader. I have extensive background as a Christ-centered yoga teacher trainer and am available for leading retreats or speaking engagements. I meet with individuals or groups in person in the St. Louis area or virtually. New directees are most welcome.

As a Spiritual Director, my desire is to provide a quiet, safe, prayerful atmosphere for soul-care. A space where a person can explore their questions about God, how they view and understand the mystery of God and how they experience God’s view of them. The Spiritual Director does not provide answers, in the sense of giving advice but helps a person respond to God’s invitation to a deeper relationship. Through companionship, questions and observations spiritual direction helps the directee discern the real and active presence of God in their everyday life. Spiritual Direction is an ancient form of pastoral care and spiritual companionship that assists a person in fostering attachment to God, leading to an increase in faith, hope and love.

I get to serve and live out my passion and calling at Whispering Meadows Retreat, the ideal place to find sanctuary, solitude and support. I count it a blessing to journey with and hold space for those seeking to deepen their relationship with God.
I received my certificate from Sustainable Faith School of Spiritual Direction, I hold a bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry, and Business Administration. I am also available as a conference speaker and retreat leader/facilitator.
I am married 34 years this April to my wonderful husband Tarrance C. Floyd- Pastor and we have two amazing adult children and four delightful grandchildren. We have loved and served together for 22 years this May at the Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas. I have been blessed to serve in various roles, Director of Ministries, women's ministry, children and youth ministries and many others at Mt. Gilead. One of my great joys has been leading Mt. Gilead and other volunteers from around the city to provide a summer music camp to the youth of our community that exposed them to the arts as well as the love of Jesus.

I am so grateful for the oppoirtunity to come alongside others, helping them to place their hand in the hand of God, that they may taste and see that He is good. Psalm 34:8

Life is filled with calm seas and storms, hills as well as valleys. It an honor and privilege to be a trusted companion who walks alongside others in their journeys, helping them to discern God’s Presence in the midst of their everyday situations.

Through a variety of prayer practices rooted in Scripture and centered around Jesus Christ, we learn to discern the voice of God and experience His great love. Together we look for Him and explore the invitations God extends in all of Iife’s experiences. With the belief that God is in all things, we seek to find Him, to savor His celebrations, as well as receive the comfort he generously offers.

I received my certificate in Spiritual Direction from Healing Care Ministries. I offer individual sessions both in-person as well as virtually. I also lead spiritual direction small groups, and contemplative prayer retreats.
