I’m a life-long adventurer whose passion is journeying alongside Christian leaders as they deepen their communion with God—exploring together their identity in Christ, and helping them to enjoy and live out all that God has designed and called them to be.

Having served in full-time vocational ministry since 1977, I currently live in Budapest, Hungary, serving as a Spiritual Director with Ministry Essentials, International. I sensed God calling me to the work of spiritual direction several years ago as a point in my own formational growth from the pastoral care and worship development that had previously been my ministry focus.

I received my training through Sustainable Faith’s School of Spiritual Direction. My ministry today is centered around spiritual direction, formational leader development, and pastoral care for global workers.

My greatest adventure has been marriage to Karen since 1977, and enjoying our two adult children, lovely daughter-in-law, and two awesome grandsons.

Are you tangled up in your faith and life, feeling trapped or exhausted? Do you yearn for more of Christ, more from your spiritual life, but the usual avenues aren't serving you anymore?

I have been teaching, shepherding and mentoring believers and seekers for almost 30 years, in a variety of contexts: College ministry, women’s ministry, in the Nonprofit world with underserved children and their families, and now the elderly, sick, and dying.

I have a Masters in Christian Spiritual Direction and Leadership from Friends University (May 2022), and received my training and certification as a Spiritual Director through Portland Seminary (April 2024).

In addition to being a Certified Spiritual Director, I am currently a Hospice Chaplain, a writer and retreat speaker, and a wife and mother. A Texas girl originally, I have happily called Lincoln, NE home since 2005.

Most of us are in the midst of our stories, and I've stopped telling mine as if everything is wrapped up with a bow. With over 35 years of ministry experience, I have served in various roles, including church planter, lead pastor, chaplain to district pastors, and currently as a part-time pastor of Spiritual Care. My journey has provided me with a profound understanding of resilience and the joy of walking alongside individuals as they discover God's presence in every aspect of their lives.

I completed a two-year program in Spiritual Direction through The Sustainable Faith School of Spiritual Direction, which, combined with my extensive experience in listening to and praying with pastors, has refined my compassionate and attentive approach.

Recently, I have felt a special calling to support those experiencing a season of deconstruction in their faith journey. My aim is to create a safe and nurturing space for you to explore your spiritual questions and struggles.

I have been married to my college sweetheart for nearly 45 years. We have four adult children and seven grandchildren. My sweetheart and I enjoy spending time with the family. We love going to the beach and boardwalk, which is within a few miles of my home. I personally enjoy listening to live music and recreational reading.

Spiritual direction is an anchor when life feels unmoored. Being able to listen to God alongside another offers comfort, hope, and a way forward. I am particularly seasoned at co-laboring with leaders in the church who bear the weight and scars of ministry. Creating spaces of silence, solitude and rest allows the soul to heal. As a spiritual director of women, I seek to find God in all things and serve as a witness to the things He is doing in the lives of my sisters in Christ. After 5 years on the mission field in Mexico City, God led me to pursue training as a spiritual director. I graduated with an MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from the Institute for Spiritual Formation, Talbot Seminary, in December 2018. After serving as a staff spiritual director with Biola University, I have now moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to work with a non-for-profit ministry dedicated to encouraging women in difficult life circumstances.

God uses individual and group spiritual direction to open hearts to the work of the Holy Spirit within and around us. It is a sacred honor to listen with others to our Heavenly Father’s invitations in grief, joy and the everyday as we journey in Christ.

I have an MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from Talbot School of Theology where I was trained as a Spiritual Director. I also have training in Spiritual Direction with children. I regularly participate in receiving spiritual direction as it has become a valuable rhythm in my own life.

I was a missionary kid and have spent a decade of my adult life overseas in missions. I am now back in the classroom teaching at an Elementary Christian School where I enjoy providing soul care for and joining God's work in the lives of children, their parents, and our faculty/staff. During the academic school year my availability for monthly meetings is primarily on Sunday afternoons.

When I think about the life-changing, soul-transforming gift of spiritual direction, I feel an upsurge of joy and gratefulness. All praise to God for inviting and enabling us to join Him in loving and serving His people and the world in this way!

After decades of working full-time as a mother to four daughters (and now four sons-in-law and seven grandchildren!) and working part-time as a physician, I am an unlikely spiritual director. Used to diagnosing problems and dispensing "cures," I have had to learn to allow God to be the One who does both the diagnosing and dispensing. Yet, these past professions also prepared me to do this work of spiritual direction by providing much practice in listening carefully, loving tenderly, waiting patiently, and trusting the one true Healer to bring wholeness.

Since completing Kairos School of Spiritual Formation's two-year spiritual direction training program in 2013 and Evangelical Theological Seminary's MAR in Spiritual Formation in 2014, I have enjoyed watching God open doors for ministry. In addition to private spiritual direction practice, I lead spiritual direction groups in my role as licensed Congregational Spiritual Director at our church. I am also available to lead weekend and all-day prayer retreats centered on Scripture, using traditional Christian contemplative practices. Retreat themes include The Spirituality of Aging, The Lord's Prayer, Reflections of God in Water, Living In-Between, The Fire of God, and Christian Spiritual Practices.

Though not taking new directees currently, I occasionally make two exceptions--missionaries and those interested in the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. Having served overseas in Zambia and Honduras, my heart goes out to missionaries. In addition, God changed my life through encountering Christ anew in the Spiritual Exercises, so I am trained to give them to others.

I love listening to someone in spiritual direction as they share with me whatever it is that they are carrying into our time together. In their story I love it when they find God's story. I especially love sitting with someone and listening as they find their way home to God's heart and their own heart. I graduated from the Transformational Listening Center in Chicago in 2015 and was also a part of their teaching staff as an intern for another two years. I have been a practicing spiritual director ever since. I also have completed the 30 hour Enneagram Spectrum Training Program in 2016 and have participated in various other Enneagram intensive courses. I love working with individuals, couples and teams as they discover this great tool for personal growth and compassionate understanding of others. I also completed a year long intensive in the Ignatius Spiritual Exercises in 2020. Since I recently moved from the Chicago area to Dayton I am comfortable with spiritual direction over zoom as well as in person and would love to build my practice here in Dayton. I have two threads in my ministry: soul coaching and spiritual direction. Soul coaching is the term I use for a blend of coaching, spiritual practices, and spiritual direction. This is so I can maintain a more classic approach to spiritual direction when I engage in it. In both forms, I consider the Holy Spirit the primary "Coach" or "Director," while I am a guide and companion along your journey. My role as a soul coach is a little more directive and goal-oriented, while my role as a spiritual director (despite it being a bit of a misnomer), is much less so and more about presence, deep listening, and bearing witness to your experience of God so that you can grow more deeply in your intimacy with him.

I specialize in the areas of purpose, identity, calling, and discernment and I have a particular passion for students, young adults, clergy/ministers/pastors and their spouses and those in the entertainment industry. As a former youth pastor and current pastor's wife who originally planned on working in film and television, I love to walk with these and many others as they seek to grow deeper in their love for God and their ability to hear and recognize his voice.

I also have a compassionate heart for those wrestling with their gender or sexual identity, who need a loving, non-judgmental presence to listen and hold space for them as they seek God's presence in their life and to more deeply explore their identity in Christ. I also desire to be a ministering presence to those who serve in restricted countries or contexts where persecution is a daily reality.

I have a M.A. in Theology and Youth Ministry from Fuller Seminary, where I also currently lead groups for graduate students that integrate spiritual formation and theological reflection. I also work with Fuller's DePree Center for Leadership leading discernment groups for marketplace leaders and with Soul Care (soulcare.com) in Boulder, Colorado developing their burgeoning online community. I completed my three-year spiritual direction certificate with Sisters of St. Joseph in Orange and Loyola Marymount in June 2023.

I can meet in-person in the San Gabriel Valley/North Orange County areas of California and anywhere online. Having lived and ministered in Hawaii for almost a decade, I have a particular heart to minister to locals there. I often return to visit and may be able to do a hybrid blend of online and in person, depending on my schedule.

It is a joy and privilege to walk with people in any stage of their faith--doubting, struggling, confident, or mature. I look forward to walking with you!

We are all on a journey. We are all a part of an unfolding story. We are all caught up in the drama called life. Yet, becoming Christ-conscious, experiencing Trinitarian communion, and finding our way home in union with God is a constant, daily challenge. For the Christian journeying in and through this world, having inner spiritual battles are normal and understandable. Yet, when significant and major distractions and disruptions occur, a crisis of faith can quickly evolve and a host of questions arise. This is especially true when one is just beginning, overwhelmed by fear, detoured by sufferings, become entrapped in illusions, or weakened by various difficulties. Thus, the ministry of Spiritual Direction that I have come to be about is one of listening intently for and discerning of what the Holy Spirit is revealing regarding a present block, pitfall, resistance, or an unresolved issue that is hindering one from moving into God's Realm of Heaven in the here and now. This takes place in the context of a covenanted spiritual companionship where the directee comes to experience one's soul and spirit and how to embody the wisdom that is being made known as the way to bear one's cross and follow Christ. Letting go of what is past and letting be what is frees one to be present and get in touch with the core of one's being -- the "image of God" for the glory of God. This process is healing and restorative of the whole person into a deeper life of holiness through a variety of spiritual practices. Then one can more faithfully be about the redemption and salvation, peace and justice of Christ, participating in the life and coming of God's Realm of Heaven in a Spirit-filled way.

I am a follower of Jesus learning from Him how to live a flourishing, fruitful life in His Kingdom and joining Him in expanding His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. I am passionate about discipling disciple makers.
I received my training in Spiritual Direction through Leadership Transformations’ Selah Certificate Program. I enjoy companioning with others listening to them share their spiritual journey; helping them pay attention to our Triune God’s presence, voice, and activity in their lives, deepening their awareness of the invitations He is extending to them.

Spiritual Direction is a gift that’s nurtured more than a skill that’s taught. It is more about listening to God and companioning another in their relationship with God, rather than talking to them about God. It is making space for prayerful listening to the One who is always with them.
It is such a joy to see people begin to embrace the love of God and join Him in becoming the kind of person He created them to be.

On a personal note, my dearest friend and husband (Doug Mitts) and I have been in vocational ministry in Europe for 31 years. We currently live in Frankfurt, Germany serving with Greater Europe Mission. We have two adult children Megan and Michael who both live in the U.S.

My name is Megan and one of the things I do is offer spiritual direction. I love sitting with others and God, journeying with them to discover the fullness of life that is found in Christ. I received an M.A. in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from the Institute for Spiritual Formation, Talbot Seminary, Biola University. I have traveled many paths in my 54 years of living. I was born and raised in the Catholic church and cherish the rich heritage that I experienced in this tradition. During my teen years, my family began attending a charismatic church, and later I graduated from Oral Roberts University where I obtained my degree in Social Work and met my husband. Through this time my faith grew in the God of miracles. Several years after I married, my first son was born with severe medical complications. This began a journey through many years of questioning. I continued to love and serve God, but could no longer find Him in my personal story. My son is now 26 years old, and along the way, God began to reveal that even when I felt abandoned, He remained always present.
As I travel this journey, I notice many other women who are on similar paths. Life has become hard and is a very lonely place. God has placed upon my heart a ministry for you. He sees and knows your heartache and desires for you once again to discover where He is in your story. I invite you to set aside space for the Holy Spirit to reveal His plans, His love, and His presence.

I obtained my Spiritual Direction training through Sustainable Faith's 2 year intensive program. Through the practice of Spiritual Direction, I set aside space, sacred and unhurried, for me to accompany you as you discover God's presence in the midst of the storms of life. The space offers a place where you can feel safe to share your joys, sorrows, doubts and fears and together we will invite the Spirit of God to reveal His presence in the midst of your life. Through the practice of reflection, silence, prayer, and questions, I help you to notice the stirrings of God right in the middle of the journey you are on. In this sacred and safe space we discover the Holy Spirit is present with you and is eager to meet you right where you are. Come find a space to be still and know that He is God.

Joe served with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for forty-four years. He held various leadership roles including National Co-director of Spiritual Formation and Prayer.

Joe has completed two Certificates in Spiritual Formation, the first from Columbia Theological Seminary and the other from the Renovare’ Institute. The Renovare’ program offered Joe the opportunity to spend several weeks with Dallas Willard, as well as other leaders in Spiritual Formation in the evangelical community.

Joe has also received his Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Sustainable Faith. Joe has offered spiritual direction for the past seventeen years. His passion and interest in both retreats and spiritual direction has always been around the ways in which people are spiritually formed and grow increasingly into the image of Christ.

While working with InterVarsity, Joe led multiple spiritual formation retreats, on both national and regional levels. Additionally, he oversaw several cohorts of a two-year spiritual formation program for leaders in the organization. These retreats helped over one hundred ministry leaders deepen their soul lives and relationships with God.
