It is my passion to offer space and quiet for anyone who is discovering what is looks like to live into wholeness with God.
What I love to say in a first meeting with someone is that spiritual direction/companioning looks different for each person I meet with - and that's just one of the things I love about it!

I stumbled across Spiritual Direction in a years long journey to figure out what I wanted to be when I "grew up" and and as I explored spiritual direction training I discerned it was exactly what I was created to do at this moment in my life. My passion is for the “whole” person – spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically – to be alive and live fully.

I am a mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend, spiritual director, retreat leader and most especially, beloved child of God. I am honored to be a companion of others as they discover God in their everyday life through the ministry of spiritual direction, either one-on-one, in a group, or making space through workshops and retreats. My life work has been working with the vulnerable locally and globally, and I have an intense understanding of cross cultural experiences as well as justice advocacy.

I also have been discovering art in its many forms in spiritual direction in my own life as well as extending that love to others. Everything from poetry to photography to painting has been pouring out of my own soul and into the lives of others I'm journeying with. Living slowly, practicing presence and noticing the movement of God in all of life is how I live and I open up the invitation to you.

During the week I work part-time as a Bookkeeper and HR Administrator for an accounting firm when I am not chasing around my two little ones. After many years of ministry to cross-cultural workers in the areas of debriefing, mentoring, and deep healing and freedom prayer facilitation, I now have the additional privilege of supporting others in their walks with Christ as a spiritual director, wondering with them at the work of God’s Spirit in and around them, supporting them as they explore, grapple, celebrate and question.

I live and minister as a founding member of Hineni House – a Christian community devoted to worship and prayer, serving those serving God in cross-cultural and local settings. After experiencing a life-threatening injury, struggling with the aftereffects—some temporary and some permanent—and yet striving to accomplish my life based on my own skills, I feel God put me in a place where I knew life would be nothing without Him. I longed to know Him deeper and see where He wanted me to be in this world.

He led me to discover the “Christian Formation and Soul Care” degree at Denver Seminary, and after reading its description, I longed to learn about it thoroughly. I realized spiritual direction is something I desperately need in my own life, as well as what I want to give to others—help them seek, see and follow God in their own journey of faith.

I would love to help you take those steps in knowing God more, diving into a deeper relationship with Him, and seeing His hands in all types of ways throughout your life.

As Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest… Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (The Message)

Along with spiritual direction, God has blessed me to be the Communications and Media Specialist with Youth For Christ in the Denver Area. Over the years, I have spiritually directing missionary women—both on and off the field—and I have mentored other girls in the U.S. I love to hike, snowshoe, doodle, photograph, spend time with friends, read and drink very good coffee.

I earnestly pray that I could have the same mindset as Paul in Romans 5:3-5: “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”

I have always loved and followed Jesus and has an enthusiasm for listening to and understanding other people's stories. Spiritual Direction training brought my many passions together as I direct others to become more aware of God’s presence and then respond more fully to Him in all aspects of life.

I earned a Masters Degree in Spiritual Direction and Spiritual Formation from Evangelical Seminary (now Kairos University). Previously, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies with an emphasis in Behavioral Science, Religious Studies, and Fine Art from Central College in Pella, Iowa.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, tending to my excessive collection of plants, puzzling, playing soccer, playing golf, and drinking well-made lattes. I have been married to my husband for 18 years and we have two teenage children together.

I live with my wonderful wife, two amazing kids, two dogs, a cat and our chickens in Durango, Colorado. We love being in a smaller community and in a place that offers us access to the outdoors right in our own backyard. I enjoy writing, painting, playing music, and binge watching shows on Netflix (always up for a good recommendation)!
I served as a minister in the Presbyterian Church for over twenty years and have since been inspired, and always honored, to offer spiritual direction as a soul friend. Raising my kids, loving my wife, serving people, and working with people of all ages, kinds, and backgrounds has shaped my life and my spiritual journey more than anything else. These experiences are primarily what I bring and offer in spiritual direction/soul friendship. Because I love this kind of work so much and have felt called to it most of my life, I also have a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary ('04), was trained as a spiritual director through Fuller Theological Seminary, and am presently finishing doctoral work in spiritual formation and direction through Fuller. About Me

God has and continues to use the events of my own story to draw me closer to him. And in the context of that growing love relationship, He equips me and leads me to people and places for his life-giving, holy appointments. Mostly, that involves helping people discover and live into their truest identity as a beloved child of God.

I grew up in a blended family, attending Catholic churches (and still appreciate much of that tradition). Years of (behind the scenes) teenage rebellion led me to fully surrender my life to Jesus early in college. Since then, I worshipped in a mainline Protestant church for many years, and more recently, am active in a large, theologically evangelical Christian church. I was trained as a director at Gonzaga University, and appreciate contemplative and Ignatian practices for being with Jesus. I am also trained in inner healing prayer, and am presented with regular opportunities to pray with those who carry emotional wounds, or simply feel spiritually “stuck.”

My husband Andy has led a thriving Christian camping ministry for over 30 years, where I serve as staff chaplain to our summer staff team of 40 college students. During the school year, I work part-time in Chapel Ministries at Whitworth University, where I meet with students for spiritual direction and prayer. I also love nature, being active outside, cooking good food, and being with and laughing (sometimes crying) with friends and family.

And my family... raising five children (plus the heartache of multiple miscarriages and the joy and challenge of adoption) with my husband has provided God many opportunities to shape, forgive, stretch, bless and grow me into his likeness. They are all young adults now, three of whom are married (to amazing people).

I would be privileged to come alongside you, and together, discover how God might use the events of YOUR story to draw you deeper into his transforming love.

Being of Irish heritage, I resonate with Celtic Christian Spirituality and am familiar with Celtic rhythms/approaches.

For those in second half of life, who are ready to engage with Holy Spirit and creative reflection & repair of any gaps in their developmental processes (we all have them!) I am trained in accompanying others through the wonderful modality of: "Developmental Spiritual Companioning" as created by Sarah Herring.

I am experienced in supporting those who are deconstructing from previous held views/opinions who are ready to grow and expand as invited by Holy Spirit.

I work mostly online using zoom and/or in person in my two locations: Summer (June-September) in Devon, UK and Winter (October-May) in Ibiza, Spain.

My greatest joy is to facilitate contemplative weekend retreats at churches, seminaries, homes, and women’s shelters where I can offer individuals who are unacquainted with the practice of spiritual director an opportunity to learn the difference between being still and doing nothing. I've given retreats, both nationally and internationally. Ten years ago, I began offering Christmas Quiet, a day of silent Advent reflection which has become a holiday tradition for Chicago-area women. I'm the author of 151 Things God Can't Do, Holy Shakespeare! and Christmas Quiet, a holiday devotional and adult coloring book. I also had the honor of being a contributor to the anthologies Embodied Spirits, Stories of Spiritual Directors of Color, and Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around, Stories of Contemplation and Social Justice. I hold a master's degree in Spiritual Formation and Family Ministry from Dominican University, and completed the practicum in spiritual director at the Christos Center for Spiritual Formation.

I am a graduate of the Soul Shepherding Institute and I have a certificate in spiritual direction. I grew up in the church, or at least right next to it in the parsonage, as a daughter in a pastor’s family. My parents valued God’s Word, honest prayer, loving God, and loving others. They lovingly wove these elements into the fabric of our daily life.

Early in my young adult years I realized that more than anything else, I desire God and I want to partake of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). Drawn to contemplation, praying Scripture, studying God’s Word, and living life with God continue to be ever-present threads in the fabric of my with-God life.

My husband and I have served with World Gospel Mission for 35 years, currently in the Member Health department. We are privileged to serve our global worker colleagues, walking with them through the ordinariness and the extra-ordinariness of life in missions. Having grown up in the parsonage, living in Africa for 30 years, serving at a mission hospital, and raising children in a majority world culture, I see how Jesus has been preparing and training me in spiritual direction for such a time as this.

I find both receiving and giving spiritual direction to be life-giving. I count it a privilege to walk with others in our humanity, whether recounting God’s faithfulness together, listening for Holy Spirit in the mysteries of life, plodding through difficult circumstances, or crying out in the darkest of times. It is sacred to listen to the stories of others while listening to Holy Spirit, learning together to recognize the voice our LORD and his active presence in our lives.

Walking with another person, exploring God’s invitations and considering spiritual disciplines that may facilitate her/his with-God life is a privilege. I find delight in joining Good Shepherd as he shepherds the hearts of others into his love and into the steadfastness of Christ (2 Thessalonians 3:5).

I currently live in Indiana, though my husband and I travel internationally often to be with global workers in their places of service. I am an apprentice of Jesus, wife/mom/grandma, nurse, missionary, spiritual director, and a ponderer. I also greatly enjoy experiencing all of creation, noticing beauty while observing nature.

I have been on a spiritual journey of over 25 years of learning how to pray and walk intimately with Jesus. This has led me to many interesting places to work with all types of people. I served as a missionary in Africa for several years, working with leaders and youth and teaching them about prayer. I have walked and prayed with the broken, whether they are orphaned children, women in prison, or the sick in hospitals. I also understand what it is like to be broken myself in life and in ministry. I have walked through dark valleys and seen Jesus meet me there. If that’s where you are at, I believe He can meet you there too. I have a special interest in working with women in ministry or missions. I also love meeting with anyone who is seeking a deeper walk with the Lord. Many have dreams too big for them that they are not walking in yet. I believe spiritual direction is a place where those dreams can be birthed. I spent 20 years on staff with an international discipleship ministry, and the last 14 years as a certified Spiritual Director. I received my training in the contemplative/evocative approach through Audire School of Spiritual Direction in Central Florida. I have enhanced my practice with training with a holistic soul care perspective. This leads to integration of all aspects of the human experience. Primarily I am looking for how God is inviting us to new ways of being with Jesus in the midst of our circumstances. The focus is on building an intimate relationship with God,self and others over a lifetime, through all the problems, crises, joys, and blessings

About Me

At the very heart of spiritual direction is soul care, from one Christ-Follower to another, for the purpose of examining, strengthening and making more intimate one's relationship with God. The Spiritual Director, through the practice of holy listening, helps the Directee to pay attention to and discern the movement of the Holy Spirit in his/her daily life. The Director and Directee meet together in the presence of God, with the session being led by the Holy Spirit of God. As the companionship unfolds, the Director encourages and emboldens, invites and inquires rather than prescribes or gives advice. It is a time for the Directee to be fully heard, fully accepted, and fully loved.

The primary goal of spiritual direction is growth. Growth in surrender; growth in awareness; growth in trust; growth in one's sense of belovedness; growth in love of the Lord; growth in Christ-likeness and overall growth in spiritual and emotional maturity. In spiritual direction, we seek to bring who and where we really are into the light of God's love, mercy and grace to enable us to grow up into the fullness of the life, freedom, grace and Kingdom-usefulness Christ longs for us to have. Spiritual Direction is not the same as discipleship, although elements of this will at times be present. It is also not instruction, counseling, therapy or problem-solving per se. The goal is to grow closer to the Lord. Joining with another into the sacred places of the soul, being trusted with one's heart, one's secret longings, one's intimate struggles and spiritual victories are a privilege that warrants great care and humility. I commit myself, to the very best of my ability, to both. As Christians, we are all on a journey, a journey meant to be lived out in authentic, accountable community. Spiritual Direction is just one tool, albeit an important one, in support of that journey. I look forward to companioning with you.

I have an Advanced Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Moody Bible Institute, and over 10 years experience working with men and women in various ministries to grow closer to God. I also studied Old Testament at Wheaton College. In addition, I hold a Master of Science in Management Degree from Benedictine University and held various roles in healthcare administration for 30 years.

About Me

Hello! Welcome. Almost five years ago I came to the ESDA website to explore finding my own Spiritual Director. I felt uncertain about the process as I had only just discovered the gift of spiritual direction while attending a learning community for spiritual formation. As I prayed and scrolled, asking for the Spirit to give me grace to find a spiritual companion for my own journey, I connected with the director I have been meeting with since that time. After a few years I sensed an invitation myself to become a spiritual director. I have had many roles in my journey with Christ and within the church but this is how I most want to serve Jesus--to be a safe listening companion with others as they journey in their own life as Christ beloved.

I completed my training in spiritual direction through the Christos Center for Spiritual Formation, Tending the Holy program.

I am a lover of beauty and the outdoors, hiking and taking slow walks, photography, sharing meals with friends, travel and a strong cup of English tea. I have always loved creating safe places of welcome in our home whether it's for a meal, a cup of tea, soul conversations or playing games.

I have been married to my Darlin for 33 years and we have two becoming adult kids--which seems a little wild to say. We have lived most of our married life in a college town which has made it feel like the nations have been at our doorstep--we have many friends from around the world. We had the privilege of living in South Korea for two years which for us was too short. Our time there was significant and we are grateful for the experiences and friendships we made and that we still carry with us.

I would consider it a sacred honor to be a companion with you in whatever place you find yourself in your own spiritual journey--longing for more of God, discerning your next steps, challenges in your faith, or perhaps it's a little of all of the above. One of the greatest gifts to me in my own experience of spiritual direction is that of PRESENCE--having another present with me as I am present with God in my spiritual journey.

There are many ways to connect and experience God's presence through prayer. Practices such as Visio or Lectio Divina, silence and solitude, the Ignatian Exercises and nature walks are just a few ways that I enjoy exploring with directees as they seek to connect their whole lives to their belovedness.

I am available to meet in person, Facetime or via Zoom. I am open to planning small group retreats for church staff or women's groups.
