I love to create an open space by inviting others into honest dialogue about their narrative, whether that includes celebration, grief or the many experiences in between. As a bi-racial woman, I am particularly passionate about working with folks as they engage and sort through the various aspects of their identity, be it cultural, racial, spiritual, gender, roles, personality, etc. As the mother of two neurodivergent girls, I look for how God works through family of origin dynamics and I love to learn from the wonder of children as they discover life. Currently, I am delighting in my work with ongoing directees and being home with my kids after school. Some of my other topics of interest include: my dogs (and all dogs!), attachment theory, foster care and adoption, the Enneagram, trauma's impact on people, and human development. My practice offers the integration of traditional and non-traditional prayer practices, creative expression, and spiritual temperament analysis. I received my Masters in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from the Institute for Spiritual Formation in Southern California in 2012 and have been in practice ever since.

I spent much of my life working hard to tame my own inner chaos by trying to be “good". At the same time, like a seed underground, the truer work of God’s love was taking root and growing into something far more interesting and beautiful than my own efforts could accomplish. The practice of spiritual direction has been a gift to me as I am learning to sink deeper in to God’s love for me and listen as He calls me to the life He has given me. It is a humbling privilege and joy to be able to sit and provide space for others as they are invited to see how they are uniquely and beautifully made. I truly enjoy noticing with them the evidence of God’s movement in their lives, taking heart that none of us are abandoned or alone.

I live in Northern California with my husband of 30 years and value a slow and simple life. We fancy ourselves to be suburban farmers and love working in the garden and tending the ground where we live. I am also a piano teacher, and enjoy songwriting, poetry, nature, and hanging out with my adult children.

Along with her spiritual direction training completed through Sustainable Faith, she has a B.A. in Ethnic Studies from UCSD. She has been an educator for 15 years and is currently co-administrating an afterschool tutoring program for students of immigrant parents. I serve in Leader Formation at Youth for Christ, USA, training adults across the US who lead ministry to 11-19 year olds; developing ministry skills and personal, Spirit-led transformation. I completed certification in Spiritual Direction, The School of Contemplative Life and the Accompaniment of the 19th Annotated Ignatian Prayer Exercises through Sustainable Faith. Each of these has generated transformation in my inner life and I am delighted to accompany others as they journey. As people occasionally need help figuring out where the Holy Spirit is leading, I create and hold space for folks to meet with Jesus. More of a companion on the road than a direction-giver, I come alongside as a support.

My experience in offering Spiritual Direction includes meeting with ministry leaders, young women, new moms, "empty nesters" and those drawn to Ignatian Prayer Exercises; helping each explore the presence of Jesus and His shepherding voice. I have served as an on-site Spiritual Director for Women's Reflective Retreats in Mount Hermon, CA.

I host reflective retreats that help attendees develop rhythms of retreat and reflection, helping people settle in to this journey; encouraging them toward the heart of Jesus through the movements in their souls.

Spiritual Direction provides a rich place for exploring what that means in everyday life - it gives breathing room to listen for how God’s heart beats and voice speaks. These reflective moments with a trusted companion can be a Sabbath-hour - a place to pause, to interact with God in stillness, to be refreshed in God’s generous presence. These are prayerful spaces to witness and nurture transformations of the heart.

I love to create environments
for others to deepen their awareness of God and to grow in spiritual intimacy, as well as to feel freer to be loved and to love. The practice of Spiritual Direction allows me to accompany other souls on their unique spiritual journeys, on whatever part of their paths they might be.

I have sensed God’s invitation into Spiritual Direction through:
~varied expressions of worship and encountering God in community. These have informed my desire to listen to God’s beloved ones in any tradition.
~life experiences - I have been familiar with disappointment beside hope; disability and disease as well as healing, mental health disorders amid uninhibited joy.
~informal and formal education - especially creative and prayerful ministries, including inner healing, compassionate listening, and artistic writing facilitation. In Spring 2023, I completed training in Spiritual Direction through Sustainable Faith’s School of Spiritual Direction.

I also carry a lifelong interest
in human cultures and languages. Passion burns in me for every individual and people group of the earth to discover the unwavering love of God, revealed in the God-Man Jesus Christ. I am grateful for opportunities to offer Spiritual Direction to those who have given their lives to cross-cultural ministry. In addition, I work in recovery ministry with women who are overcoming addiction and other outcomes from abuse and trauma.

My home life includes
personally caring for my disabled adult son as well as managing his full-time caregiving needs. I also enjoy long walks, simply solo with God or with my husband (since 1995) or another soul friend along the greenbelt in my neighborhood. Hiking in the mountains or along a coastal path are especially happy places. My heart sings when I worship dance with colorful flags or scarves.

I am learning to find God’s Spirit

With over 20 years of ministry experience, I am a Christian Spiritual Director with a passion for listening and walking with others as they follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Having most recently served on staff of Horizon Church in Galt, California, I have experience in helping women and men navigate the challenges of life transitions – whether it be changes in relationships, a life-altering diagnosis, the loss of a loved one or other shifts in life circumstances – listening to more than words, but listening to the heart, helping sense God’s closeness and discovering where He is already at work.

As a spiritual director and pastor, I offer individual spiritual direction and lead people through the Ignatian Exercises, a life-transforming journey of prayer.

For more than 25 years as a pastor and leader in Christian ministries, I have experienced the joys and sorrows of the life of faith. I worked hard, gave myself sacrificially to God and to God’s people. Along the way, I became depleted, worn down, and came to the end of myself. In that place of brokenness and need, the Lord met me and began a journey of soul restoration. This led me to seek spiritual direction, to discover a renewed calling, and ultimately to become a spiritual director.

I have a passion to walk with others on their journey of soul restoration, to strengthen and encourage pastors and ministry leaders, and disciples of any kind, to help them grow in relationship with the living God. Through the years I have walked closely with spouses struggling in their marriages, those suffering from serious mental health problems, those in times of doubt and deconstruction. I seek to embody God’s patience, care, and compassion, wherever someone is on their journey. I seek to see my directees in and through the love of the Father, encourage them to encounter the compassion of Jesus, and to open themselves to the Spirit’s work in their lives.

I have Masters of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary, graduated from both the SoulFormation Academy of Spiritual Direction and Formation, and the SoulFormation School of Spiritual Direction. I was trained in Ignatian spirituality through SoulFormation, have led more than 70 people through the Ignatian Exercises, and now train directors offer the Ignatian Exercises as well.

My wife Debbie and I have been married for more than 25 years and have two teenage daughters. Together we lead a marriage ministry in the San Francisco Bay Area and seek to encourage couples towards God and into deeper connection with one another.

My own journey to spiritual direction came at a time when I was near personal and professional burnout, and the space created for me in direction moved me to experience God's care and comfort in new ways. Experiencing more of God's delight in me opened me up to delight and wonder and a fresh experience of His grace. I hope to journey with others in ways that invite them to experience this same grace in their own lives.

I have been in ministry leadership for 18 years and have spent 10 of those years church planting in San Francisco. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Florida, a Masters Degree in Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and trained as a Spiritual Director through Nuos Formation. I have been shaped deeply by my experience as a foster and adoptive parent, as well as a parent of biological children. I love journeying with other parents who find themselves in seasons of discouragement, questioning, or transition.

My husband Dave and I have been married since 2005 and make our home in San Francisco with our three teenaged children. I am available for in-person or virtual spiritual direction.

I am the Founder of Nuos Formation, an organization that serves individuals, organizations, and companies in leadership development, cultural health, and organizational discernment--basically the convergence of spiritual formation and the San Francisco/Silicon Valley business world. I have served a number of churches and non-profits as a spiritual director and/or with my expertise in spiritual formation and the intersections of spirituality, technology, art and organizational health.
